Home

Jessica got to come home today = good
Delaney did not come home today = bad
Wayne and Janice arrived = good

We took Wayne and Janice to the hospital so Delaney could meet her maternal grandparents, and we had a really good visit. Delaney was pretty active, kicking off the covers and showing us her eyes again. Nurse Ashley let Jessica take Delaney's armpit temperature and we both got to change her diaper. Ashley was optimistic that the two chest tubes that have been turned off would come out tomorrow.

All in all, a pretty good day.

Jessica,

Amanda gave us the good news and we are sending very positive vibes your way. Delaney is such a beautiful baby.

Having spent 10 days in the NICU this summer with our daughter we can relate to what you are going through. Here are our top five tips.

1) Remember: Eventually things will be OK!!!
2) Make sure you eat. Grisanti's takeout makes a great snack and is much better than hospital food.
3) Find the refrigerator with the juice.
4) Don't let the nurses push you around. Most of them are great.
5) Ask Questions!!!!!! She is your baby and you are paying for it.

Finally, when you get Delaney home, you will already be pros at taking care of her. Hang in there. If you want to talk give me a call. We're thinking of you.
