A great boon

I wanted to pause for a moment and talk about something that's been a great help to me, a great source of strength, support, and comfort in these somewhat trying times. When my mood was flagging, it was right there, ready to bring a ray of sunshine, a surge of hope.
I'm speaking, of course, of pie.
Tart yellow sweetness blanketed in white fluffy goodness,
encased safely in a petroleum byproduct clamshell.

O, Lemon Meringue Pie, what would I do without you?

Joe,
There are times in all our lives when we find we need a little help to get through. I feel compelled to share this with you. http://news.deviantart.com/article/38726/
It could change your life.

You have already demonstrated, Miss DeLaney, in your two short weeks more strength and perserverance than most folks do in eons of lifetimes. We are so, so happy that you have now vaulted a major hurdle. One of these days, when you and Daddy and Mommy, are drooling over the last piece of lemon pie on the plate, you can share "what I've been through" stories. And then you will realize from whence your incredible constitution comes.
Joe and Jess, we think of you three every single day and send all the good thoughts we can muster your way. Grandma Jan is sitting here with us, and she, too, sends you all her best wishes and prayers. Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping us all updated during such stressful times.....
Santa has good things up his sleeve for you.....
Love, Sam, Judy, Skeeter

...What about Ward's pre-packaged, preserved lemon pies!
